DCHS “J”-Term

The DCHS J-Term enables students to pursue their passions. They might have a passion for serving others, for writing, drama, woodworking, science, photography/videography, computer graphic arts, athletic training or a number of other different interests. They can join a local outreach to serve area churches and the community with projects like Habitat for Humanity builds, or they can combine their gift for giving with a yen for travel and journey to help victims recover from the ongoing destitution from disasters like Hurricane Katrina, assist those battling life-controlling problems in areas like Jamaica, or serve Native Americans of the Tohono O’odham Reservation, the second largest in the United States. Students also use this time to embark in business or work internships to assist in the discovery of God’s plan for their lives.

These activities and mission ministries take place over a 2 1/2- to 3-week period of intensive Christ-based study and work between the fall and spring trimesters.
